I coached youth baseball and Little League for 25 years. I’ve been fortunate that I only witnessed or sustained minor injuries over the years. The worse I personally ever suffered was when our local Little League put up a beautiful batting cage. I was so excited to use it I did not wait for our Muhl Tech Varsity L-Screen to arrive and began throwing batting practice in it. One player hit a ball right back to me toward my face. I was able to deflect it from hitting me with the full force but I got whacked pretty good in the chin. In fact for a few days you were able to see the image of the baseball stitches on my chin. I learned the hard way and also realized when you are a “lifer” coach like me you tend to deny your own ability even when your reflexes get a little slower. Do yourself and your league a favor and when you pitch batting practice use an L-Screen. This L screen is better than standard quality and perfect for most backyard uses. Most of the competing products I see for less money seem to be made from lesser frame & net materials and usually aren't big enough to adequately protect adult-size pitchers. The Muhl Tech Varsity L Screen is a great choice! -Marty Schupak
