As a longtime Little League coach, from t-ball to juniors, I can say that there is much wisdom and useful info and tips in this collection of pieces. My own well-known book "Joy in Mudville" covers a father's view of coaching his son, and all the fun and pitfalls, but this book is much more of valuable guide to coaching, told well. Schupak is one of the nation's leading instructional coaches with many videos and books to his credit, so you won't go wrong with this book.
I enjoyed writing Baseball Chronicles. The articles written will be relevant to most Little League coaches and parents as well as softball coaches. One thing I learned while coaching baseball was to be resourceful to learn about the obvious and hidden baseball tips. Most of the families in our league were able to afford some of the better baseball equipment. We couldn't! My kids and I made items comparable to nets for under $25.00 that others bought for $250.00. This creativity helped me become a better coach. Just read the articles in the book, Practice When No Field Is Available or Baseball Creativity in Your Own Backyard.
